OJJDP FY 2026 Expanding Youth Access to Community-Based Treatment
This program funds community-based treatment programs for youth with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health/substance use disorders who are at risk of or involved in the juvenile justice system, to expand cross-system access to treatment and reduce recidivism.
⚑ NOFO says eligibility is not stated in the provided notice; confirm applicant classes in the full solicitation. · Primary purpose is community-based treatment/access and recidivism reduction, not research. · Juvenile justice cross-system partnership is central to the program.
This is primarily a juvenile-justice service-delivery implementation grant for community-based SUD/MHSUD treatment, which is well outside IPPRA’s core survey/risk/energy/weather program lines. David Hogg could be adjacent through program evaluation in social services, and Deven Carlson only in a broad evaluation sense, but no one on the team has this as a main research line.

Description
This is a notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) for the OJJDP FY 2026 Expanding Youth Access to Community-Based Treatment program. This opportunity will fund community-based treatment programs serving youth with substance use disorders (SUD) and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders (MHSUD). Selected community-based programs will develop or expand cross-system approaches to improve responses and outcomes for youth with SUDs and MHSUDs who are at risk of or have already been in the juvenile justice system by increasing access to community-based treatment, as appropriate, to address their substance use and mental health needs to prevent reoffending and recidivism.
