Cooperative Agreement for affiliated Partner with Californian Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit
This cooperative agreement funds research, technical assistance, and education projects that advance USGS priorities in hydrology, geology, geospatial science, biosecurity, and near-Earth space science for a participating partner of the Californian Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit.
⚑ Eligible applicants must be a participating partner of the Californian Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit. · CESU cooperative agreement mechanism; research, technical assistance, and education are all in scope. · Award ceiling: $200,000.
This is adjacent to the team’s hazard-communication and public-risk lines, especially if the project centers on decision-making, warning response, or stakeholder use of environmental/hazard information. It is not a core fit for any one member’s own program because the solicitation is primarily applied hydrology/geology/resilience science, but it could plausibly support the team’s social-behavioral contribution to tools and actionable science for water, fire, storms, and infrastructure resilience.

Description
Projects supported under this cooperative agreement should advance Administration priorities, including, but not limited to, American energy dominance, critical mineral development, water security, infrastructure resilience, and natural hazard preparedness. Research and activities may incorporate scientific expertise in areas such as hydrology, geology, geospatial science, biosecurity, and near-earth space science, including extreme events such as drought, flooding, wildland fire, coastal erosion, severe storms, and geologic hazards, to develop actionable science, data, and tools that support informed decision-making by resource managers and stakeholders.
Eligibility
This financial assistance opportunity is being issued under a Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Units (CESU) Program. CESU's are partnerships that provide research, technical assistance, and education. Eligible recipients must be a participating partner of the Californian Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit.
