Aviation Research BAA 2025
The FAA will fund aviation research and related technical studies for airport, airspace, safety, training, pavement, materials, and cybersecurity topics under its Aviation Research BAA.
⚑ Broad Agency Announcement open for 10 years (12/5/2024–12/4/2034) unless terminated sooner · Applicant restrictions indicated as federal contract/solicitation; follow full BAA and topic notices for any topic-specific limits · Topics are added and removed by amendment; only currently active topics are fundable
This is overwhelmingly an aviation engineering, cybersecurity, and transportation-systems BAA, with topics like pavement design, aircraft safety, structural integrity, and autonomous ground vehicle cyber issues. The team’s work is in social-behavioral risk, public opinion, weather/emergency communication, energy/nuclear, and education policy—not FAA engineering or aviation operations research.
